Question / Issue
FAQ ID#260. Where do you find the answer that you stated regarding the mit credits on Auxillary buildings in the Citizens manuel?

Answer / Solution

Since these buildings are on a Commercial Residential Property, but are not used for Residential occupancy or living purposes they are considered Commercial Non-Residential buildings on the Commercial Residential property and therefore have a special rate table CR-I.  This same list is shown for main buildings if they are rated on their own as a Non-Residential Purpose and not on Commercial Non-Residential property.  See below.  Also, Citizens has stated to many agents that Auxiliary buildings (since they can also be rated in some cases as Special class property, which does not recieve this credit) that any building rated on the CR-I rate table does not receive a wind mit credit.

NOTE: For Commercial Residential Multi-Peril policies, Citizens will apply a windstorm mitigation credit to auxiliary buildings.
