Question / Issue
I get this error message when attempting to rate a quote: Read beyond end of file. What do a I do to fix this?

Answer / Solution

This may be caused by a bad or corrupted quote template and occurs on a new quote only.

  1. To determine if it is your default quote template causing the error:
    • Go to the Tools menu and select Options.
      •  
    • On the General tab, select the ITC Defaults from the dropdown list under Default Quote Template.
    • Click on Apply then OK to save and close the screen.
      •  
    • You should now be able to rate your quote without the error message. 
  2. If you do not get the error message when using the ITC Defaults quote template, we recommend that you delete it from the system and then create a new quote template from the ITC Defaults quote template.
    • To delete your corrupted quote template:
      • Close all open quotes.
      • Go to Tools/Quote Management/Delete Quotes.
        •  
      • On the Delete Quotes screen, select Quote Templates from the dropdown list in the Deletion Type entry field.
      • Click on the List button at the bottom of the screen to list all of your custom quote templates (the ITC Defaults quote template will not display since this template can never be deleted).
      • Uncheck the templates that you want to keep in the system and leave checked those that you want to delete including the corrupted template.
      • Click on the Delete button at the bottom of the screen to remove all templates that you checked to be deleted.
      • Click on Done to close this screen.
