Question / Issue
Cross Sell Reports

Answer / Solution

What is a Cross Sell Report?

A Cross Sell report pulls a list of your customers who have purchased one policy type but not another, because its easier to sell an additional policy to someone you've already built a relationship with.

Let's say you'd like to sell a homeowners policy to your existing auto customers. Great idea, but you'll want to exclude any who already have a homeowners policy with your agency. Obviously, this will be much more successful than trying to sell a homeowner policy to a client who already purchased one from your agency. So this report will allow you to target the right customers.

Who Can Run Reports?

A user's account must have the proper permissions to run reports. A user who's permissions are granted for just a specific location can only run reports for their location. If you don't have the option to run reports, contact your agency admin to change your user permissions.

How Do I Run a Cross Sell Report?

  1. Go to “Agency Tools“ at page top and select “Cross Sell Report“.
  2. Select one or multiple LOB's of existing customers.
  3. Select the LOB(s) you want to sell to your existing customers.
  4. You can select one agency location if you'd like.
  5. Click “Refresh”.
  6. Contact information will be displayed in the open area below the report filters.

Can I Export a Cross Sell Report to Excel?

  1. Yes! Run the report.
  2. Click the “Export” button.
  3. Select a location to save the file.
  4. Name your file.
  5. Select the type of file to save.
    1. Why is this important? both formats can be viewed in Excel.
      1. Saving the file with an XLS extension will allow you to double click the file when browsing your files and it will open in Excel with an error message.
      2. Saving the file with an XML extension allows you to open the file in Excel without an error message, but Excel doesn’t know it’s an Excel file if you double click on it when browsing your files.
  6. Click Save.

Additional Info

  • InsurancePro pulls report data by matching the owner’s name and street address. If your customers' name and street address is incomplete or incorrect in InsurancePro, your reports will be inaccurate.
  • InsurancePro reports policies with Active, Rewrite, Renewal, or Reinstate statuses only.
